Many of the published Altgens photo included a caption which said that the Secret Service agents were "looking for the source of the shots." And, that was much better phrasing than the crap that Linde wrote. And here is the phrasing from the Sheboygan Press.
That says: "Secret Service men are looking to determine from where the shots came." That's OK, but I don't particularly like it.
It would have been more concise to say: looking to determine the source of the shots. But, it's a hell of a lot better than what Linde wrote:
"from where shot came from"? What??? He sounds like Frankenstein from SNL: "Fire bad." Did Linde really write that? And did any newspapers actually use it? I haven't found any yet, and I've been looking. So, did every single newspaper in the country doctor Linde's caption? If so, I can't say I blame them.
