No, Backes. It wasn't a single frame from a film. It was a photograph. It was always a photograph. 

This image has been severely cropped, but you notice there is a man, a photographer, in the lower left corner. And, it seems that we don't have the photograph that he took. What we have is a photo of someone behind him who took a photo of him photographing Lovelady. Why did this happen? I don't know. 

This is the same photo except that it's uncropped; it's color; and there is a lot more shadow on Lovelady's face and elsewhere. But, you can see that it's the same photo, right?
