Robin Unger called the UPI telephoto "full-frame," but it's not. They cut Newman out of the picture.

So, you missed that, huh Robin? Well, I didn't.

So, the upper one without Newman is the UPI telephoto. You see how they cut right through Chaney in order to take Newman out.

Now, why did they do that? Was it because Newman's arm and part of his chest are missing? Is it because the motorcycle in front of him looks more like a drawing than anything photographic? In any case, it seems like a lot of trouble to go to. I mean, it's such a smaller sliver, why go to the trouble of cropping it out? And, it meant cutting the cop in half, dissecting him, which is not attractive in pictures. Why didn't they at least keep all of Chaney? Why were they determined to make sure that Newman was completely and totally taken out? It seems very obsessive, especially for November 23, 1963.

Unger: try to be more observant.
