What it comes down to is this:
Marina said some very disturbing, shocking things about Lee in 1964 to the Warren Commission, but what was she saying to people in 1963 while the things were supposedly happening?
We have the means to compare 1964 Marina to 1963 Marina to look for consistency; to look for confirmation. But, we don't find either.
And there is no excuse for it. To attribute it to Marina just going soft on her aunt and uncle is just spinning it. She was a young woman, in a foreign country, where she couldn't speak the language, and her husband was, supposedly, physically and verbally abusing her while also plotting and attempting to kill other people. Does it get any worse than that for a woman? Because I don't think it does. And to try to rationalize the vast disparity in what she said in 1964 to what she was saying in 1963, and to make excuses for her overall cheery and upbeat disposition in 1963 is indefensible and bloodied.
