Mark Lane died two days ago, on May 10, 2016. He was 89.
I feel privileged to have spoken to him once on the phone for about 15 minutes. I'll never forget how warm he was.
As Oswald defenders and disputers of the official story of the JFK assassination go, there is no one bigger than Mark Lane. He is so big that he is truly part of the story. He is part of the history of it. He is in the story.
Mark Lane's Oswald Innocent: A Lawyer's Brief was published in the National Guardian on December 19, 1963. Just think: That was less than a month after the assassination. Can you imagine how hard he worked to get it done?

And even by then, Mark Lane had uncovered that Oswald never went to Mexico City. Mark Lane was not only a brilliant lawyer but a brilliant investigator.
Mark Lane now joins Jack White as a posthumous member of the Oswald Innocence Campaign.
I knew this day was coming, but I feel very personally affected. If there is an El Cid in the JFK truth movement, his name is Mark Lane.
