Debbie, I have never thought you had a holier than thou attitude in any way. In my half a century on this earth I have heard some of the most brilliant people make the most stupid statements. I have also learned that contrary to what most learned people say…there are stupid questions…as shown by that journalist’s question to Ziadah.
My ancestors were natives in the state I reside and inter-married and thrived for 200 years after the Europeans settled this country. As soon as they were no longer needed by the “government” as allies against the British and the French, they were forced to march to Oklahoma in what was called the “Trail of Tears”. Some estimates are up to half of those forced to walk 2/3 of the way across the U.S. died due to exposure and disease before they reached the reservation.
So I can sympathize to a degree. Hating someone brings you down to their level, it makes you no better than them. It gives them rent free space in your head and just makes you bitter.
Fight the good fight out of a sense of righteousness…not out of hate. That’s all I meant.
