1. Her dress. She was wearing a long, heavy coat and a tight scarf. I realize there were other women wearing scarfs, but not that many. The fact is, it was a very effective way to hide her identity. In fact, I can't think of anything more she could have done to hide her identity.
2. Her location. She was standing behind Charles Brehm and his son. I mentioned that she may have walked across the field and just gotten there. But even so, there was plenty of room on either side of him for her to grab a front row spot. So why didn't she? Well, what if she knew what was going on, that Elm Street was a kill zone? She'd have had ample reason to stand back and keep her distance, don't you think? Who wants to get too close to that?
3. Her behavior during. When we first see her in the Muchmore film, she is standing with her camera pointed in advance of where the Kennedys were headed, waiting for them to reach the field of her camera.
That is frickin' weird. I have NEVER seen anybody do that in my life. I have never heard of anybody doing that in my life- except for her. And I have been asking around, and so far nobody has told me that that have ever seen anybody do that either. I haven't attended too many motorcades, but I have attended a lot of parades, and I have never seen anyone point her camera far ahead of her subjects and wait for them to reach her, to get into her camera field. Say what you will, but that is unusual. It is very unusual.
But, what if she knew that the plan was to stop at a certain spot to finish Kennedy off? Remember that the Moorman photo was taken just a 1/6 second after the fatal head shot. So, it seems that Babushka Lady knew where to point her camera to capture the crucial moment. Whether or not you believe my claim that she is the real taker of the Moorman photo, she definitely directed her camera in advance to the spot where the fatal shot took place.
4. Her behavior after. This picture below has always bothered me because all the spectators are on the ground, and even the cops look like they are pretty frazzled. But, Babushka Lady is just standing there, cool as a cucumber. She's like Stonewall Jackson at the Battle of Manassas, sans the horse, and that's why I call this image, Stonewall Babushka.
She looks unaffected doesn't she? Why didn't she get down like the others? Look at it close up.
She's still holding her camera.
The other spectators were down. Why didn't she get down?
Why would she be so confident that the shooting was over? Why didn't she feel that she was in danger?
I'll take a moment to repeat that I consider the chance of Beverly Oliver being the Babushka Lady to be zero. Beverly Oliver was a 17 year old girl in 1963, and Babushka Lady was much older than that.
That is not a 17 year old, and anyone who thinks otherwise has no knowledge of human female maturation. There is another image. I don't know how reliable it is because it was artificially colorized. But, it obviously shows a middle-aged woman.
5. The aftermath. There were public appeals for her to come forward, but she never did. That would have been a very unusual behavior. All of those who took pictures or films of the JFK assassination were very cooperative with authorities and turned over their materials without question or dispute. They were very compliant. To the last person. Now, if it had been me, I would have said, "No. This is mine. It is private property. You can't have it." And if they persisted, I'd have said, "Let's go talk to the Judge." And even then, if the Judge had ordered me to turn it over, I would have still refused. I would have forced them to use force against me. That's the only way they would have gotten it.
But, it's highly unlikely that if Babushka Lady was just a regular person, that she would have resisted at all. And, it is highly likely that she would have cooperated, just like all the others.
So, did she really not come forward? Did this regular woman, this normal spectator of the JFK motorcade really say to herself,
"Screw them. I'm not coming forward. It's mine, and I don't want to give it to them."
Come on. The chances of that are slim and none, and Slim just slipped on a banana peel.
So, if she really was a regular spectator, I believe she would have come forward. And remember something: even if she didn't hear about it right away, which is unlikely, eventually she had to hear about it. Right? So, she would have come forward then.
So, if she was a regular spectator, she undoubtedly would have come forward, and that means she did come forward.
But, for them to replace Mary's photo with one of Babushka Lady's would have been risky. It would have amounted to bringing her into the conspiracy. But, it would have been no problem if she was already in the conspiracy.
Do you think it's far-fetched to suggest that this ordinary looking housewife was part of the conspiracy to kill the President of the United States? But, don't a great many people believe that Ruth Paine was part of the conspiracy to kill the President of the United States?
So, if you could have one, why couldn't you have two? Of course, Ruth Paine wasn't exactly middle-aged. She was only 32 years old, and to my eyes, she looks younger than Babushka Lady. But keep in mind that it is biologically possible for a 32 year old to be the mother of a 17 year old. The point being that 17 is young; very young. Babushka Lady was definitely not 17. Really, it's absurd.
But, the biggest thing by far is this one thing: the fact that from the beginning, Babushka Lady was not interested in getting an immediate fix on the Kennedys to take a picture. She wanted to photograph them later: when they reached a certain spot.
Look at it one more time because it is really quite startling.
That is weird. Have you ever seen such a thing? Things just weren't right with that lady. I think she may have been in on it.
