Officer Marrion Baker is a hero. That's because his Warren Commission testimony is absolutely devastating to the official story of the JFK assassination. His testimony proves that Oswald did NOT come down from the 6th floor. And really, it has been known since he gave his testimony. But, it has been ignored because of what it implies. Here is what I am talking about: 

Mr. BAKER - As I came out to the second floor there, Mr. Truly was ahead of me, and as I come out I was kind of scanning, you know, the rooms, and I caught a glimpse of this man walking away from this--I happened to see him through this window in this door. I don't know how come I saw him, but I had a glimpse of him coming down there.
Mr. DULLES - Where was he coming from, do you know?
Mr. BAKER - No, sir. All I seen of him was a glimpse of him go away from me.
Mr. BELIN - What did you do then?
Mr. BAKER - I ran on over there
Representative BOGGS -You mean where he was?
Mr. BAKER - Yes, sir. There is a door there with a glass, it seemed to me like about a 2 by 2, something like that, and then there is another door which is 6 foot on over there, and there is a hallway over there and a hallway entering into a lunchroom, and when I got to where I could. see him he was walking away from me about 20 feet away from me in the lunchroom.

You have to understand Baker's language. He referred to the anteroom or vestibule as a "hallway." So, the door closest to him with the glass through which he looked was the first door he referenced. That was BAKER'S door. Then, he said there was another door 6 feet farther back, and that's the door to the vestibule from the office area. That's the door Oswald went through. So, that was OSWALD'S door. There was actually a third door going from the vestibule to the lunch room, and it was between the other two doors, but that door was propped open, so it was like it wasn't there. Oswald MUST have gone through the other door, the one from the office side. It's the only way Baker could have seen him. Baker caught only a quick glimpse of him as Oswald angled into the lunch room. Remember, Baker first saw Oswald in the vestibule, which he called a hallway. But, the vestibule was very small, and if Oswald had gone through Baker's door, it would still have been swinging, and Baker may not have seen him at all. So, Oswald definitely used the other door, the one from the office side. Then, Baker went through his door into the vestibule, and then looking into the lunch room proper as he stood at the threshold, he saw Oswald walking through the lunch room with his back to him. 

That is how it went down. The above diagram is crude and simplistic, as the geometry was a bit different. But still, it captures the essence of what happened. And I don't know to what extent Baker even thought about this. But, whether he thought about it or not, he, personally, devastated the official story of the JFK assassination because he proved that Oswald did NOT come down from the 6th floor. He came up from the 1st floor. 

And, let's remember that Baker went up a flight when he climbed the entrance steps. The "1st" floor of the TSBD was not at ground level.  And then, he went up two runs of stairs to get to the lunch room. So, that could easily have felt like the 3rd floor to him.  

Here is something interesting from the Wizard concerning the origin of Jack Ruby's nickname, "Sparky."

I spoke once before about the Garage Shooter's calm dynamism, in contrast to Ruby's slightly shambolic persona. In his later years Jack kept himself in reasonably good condition. However, his 'Sparky' nickname, attributed by some, including his brother, to his temper, seems to have had an earlier origin. According to Jack's sister, Eva, he acquired the nickname because he 'resembled a slow-moving horse named "Spark Plug" or "Sparky" in a contemporary comic strip' (see photo and link). The creature in question constantly exhibited great sloth and tended to come last in his races, much to the distress of his owner. In the clip below, the horse's owner attempts to give Sparky castor oil in order to boost his performance but, in a surprising turn of events, ends up somehow ingesting the castor oil himself, no doubt to the general amusement of the cartoon drama's juvenile audience.

RC: With that in mind, I observe that after supposedly putting up a fight that required a dozen men to contain, that once inside the police station, "Sparky" became the most docile prisoner there ever was. Was this guy fighting tooth and nail just a couple minutes before? You'd have to be awfully stupid to believe that. 

Remember that there were two runs between floors. You can think of it like a spiral staircase except that instead of being spiral, it was zig-zag. So, you climbed a run; you got to a landing; you changed direction; then you climbed the second run. If in his mind, Baker remembered each run as a floor, it would have meant going from floor 1 to floor 3. But, the bottom line question is: was Baker involved in any malfeasance? I don't think so. He was just an ordinary motorcycle cop. Whether any thought was put into assigning him to what he was doing, I don't know, but regardless, there's no reason to think he knew anything. He didn't even refer to Truly by name. He just said he was the building superintendent. And Truly referred to him as the officer. They didn't know each other. So, the idea that they would have schemed to commit perjury together is ridiculous. I do think that Truly was in on it, but not Baker. Baker was a straight shooter. And it means a lot that he acknowledged years later that the man in the doorway "resembled" Oswald.

I'm no fan of Judyth Baker, but I'm no fan of Ruth Paine either. It doesn't bother you that her mother-in-law's best friend was Allen Dulles' mistress, Mary Bancroft? Coincidences like that just roll off you like water off a duck's back, do they? It doesn't bother you that first Michael Paine thought that Oswald's rifle inside the blanket felt like tent poles and then another time it felt like a shovel? It doesn't bother you that his boss at Bell Helicopter was a former Nazi that Dulles brought over here via Operation Paperclip, General Walter Dornberger? That doesn't bother you either, does it? I want to hear you say it. 

As I said, I'm no fan of Judyth Baker, but a female researcher I do think highly of is Mae Brussels.

The issue has been raised about Marrion Baker's first statement to the Dallas Police which referenced the 3rd or 4th floor, not the 2nd.

What do I make of it? Not much. It's just another error. Note that Baker didn't type it. He signed it, but he didn't type it. Oswald confirmed that it was on the 2nd floor that he encountered the officer. It's in the Fritz Notes. Why would Oswald have lied about it? He was innocent, and he had no reason to lie about anything. Oswald certainly did not go to the 3rd of 4th floor. What for? And he did not remain in the doorway for several minutes after the shooting before going home. If he had, it would have been impossible deny his presence. Leastways, it would have been much more difficult because people would have turned around and come back inside, and he would have been seen- by many. Victoria Adams came out and said that she saw Jack Ruby barking orders and acting like a cop. If she was willing to admit seeing him, she would have admitted seeing Oswald too if he was there. So, Oswald definitely left the doorway, and he left it early. Then, several minutes later, either at 12:33 or 12:34, he returned to the entrance to begin his trek back home. What would have used up those few minutes if not the trek to the lunch room? No, as I look at it, there really is no alternative to the official story that he went to the lunch room where he encountered Truly and Baker. That first statement which got the floor wrong I regard as an anomaly, and I give it no weight or importance. I'm willing to dismiss it. 

Let's look at the two men who supposedly encountered Oswald after the assassination. 

One of them was a young reporter named Pierce Allman. This was him in 2013.

“There was a guy standing in the doorway,” remembered Allman, “and I said, ‘Where's the phone?’ And he jerked his thumb and said, ‘In there!' And I said, ‘Thank you.’” 

Reportedly, Allman didn't realize that he crossed paths with Lee Harvey Oswald until 3 weeks later when he was visited by the Secret Service. But, why is that? If he brushed by Oswald and exchanged words with him, why didn't he recognize Oswald later that day after his arrest? "Hey! That's the guy I ran into." Why didn't that happen? It seems like it should have.

“They said, ‘Are you familiar with the testimony of Lee Oswald after his arrest?’ And I said, ‘No.’ And they said, ‘He states as he was leaving the Depository building, a young man with a crew cut rushed up, identified himself as a newsman, and asked where a phone was. So this was very obviously you.’”

Did it come as a shock when Allman realized that the guy he asked for directions was the one who shot the President?

“It did,” said Allman. “He didn't appear stressed in any way.”

But wait. Did Oswald really say that the man identified himself as a newsman? Why would the man do that? Why wouldn't he just ask, "Where's the phone?" Why say, "I'm a newsman. Where's the phone?" And notice that in Allman's account, he just said that he asked him where the phone was; he said nothing about first identifying himself as a newsman. 

"I will never forget that first look," said Pierce Allman.

Well, if you would never forget it, then why didn't you recognize Oswald later when you saw him at the P.D. or when you saw him on television? 

“There were three guys in the fifth floor window,” he said. “And they were literally hanging out of the window and looking up and pointing up.

What?????????  The three guys on the 5th floor were Jarman, Norman, and Williams. But, if they were hanging out the window and looking up and pointing up (presumably to show where the shots came from) others would have reported seeing it, and they would have reported doing it. Allman is the only one who ever said that. And he didn't always say it. In this interview, he said nothing about seeing 3 men on the 5th floor who were demonstrating; instead, he just recalled seeing a rifle on the 6th floor.

And notice that in that interview he recalled what he said to Oswald, which included no identification of himself as a newsman, and then he recalled what he was told by the SS that Oswald said the man identified himself as a newsman. So, why didn't he tell the SS: "But, I didn't tell him I was a newsman. I simply asked him where the phone was."

And even then, 50 years later, he said that he "evidently" had an encounter with JFK's killer. Evidently? EVIDENTLY? Meaning what? That the Secret Service said I did, so I must have? 

Unfortunately, the situation is no better for Canadian Robert MacNeil. 

He never gave any thought to having seen Oswald until 18 months after the assassination when William Manchester contacted him to tell him that he must have been the guy Oswald encountered. MacNeil admitted seeing Oswald in person at the PD later that day but did not recognize him as the man he encountered.

“As I ran up the steps, this young guy in shirt sleeves came out. I said, ‘where is there a phone?’ He said, ‘you better ask inside,” MacNeil said. “I didn’t register his face because I was obsessed with finding a phone. . . . Much later, it occurred to me that I was going in just about the time Oswald had been going out.”

"Historian William Manchester later reported that Oswald recalled speaking to a man who matched MacNeil’s description about a phone. Manchester relayed this to MacNeil, saying the assassin had mistaken the journalist for a Secret Service man."

But, even when pressed, MacNeil could not place Oswald at the scene. He could not recall the face of the man he saw. He couldn't recall anything about him except that he was in shirt sleeves. 

These are baffling incongruities, and I think they are just as baffling as Mrs. Reid recalling Oswald wearing just a t-shirt. Maybe more baffling.
