Very interesting article here on the life of Rafael Cruz and also of his son Ted and his wife Eleanor, except that it claims that Eleanor was never really his wife, that they never legally married. The article was written by investigative reporter Anna Tomerlin.

Repeatedly, she states that there is no record of Rafael and Eleanor ever having married. On Ted's birth certificate, his mother's last name is listed as Wilson. Rafael didn't get divorced from his first wife Julia Garza until 1996. Then in 1997, he got divorced from Eleanor without ever having been married to her.
The above article is the most comprehensive bio of Rafael Cruz that I have seen.
