So, in the World according to Backes, there is a light source behind "Ruby" and his head is in the way of the light source. So, he's standing in front of the light? So, you're saying it's a backlit image. There is a lot said and shown about backlit images. Here's one:

Wow. She's very lovely. But, her face is not in shadow, and she has no black discs around her eyes. 

But, let's go indoors because the garage was indoors, and whatever the light source was, it wasn't sunlight.

So, you see the rather pinpoint light behind the couple, which they are partially blocking, and it certainly renders them dark. But, it doesn't result in anything like this:

So, Backes' explanation is worthless. He doesn't know what he's talking about. He has no training in physics, optics, photography, or anything else that is germane to this.

Then consider: if shadow was being formed because his head was blocking light that was behind him, why would the resulting shadow take this form?

Now look below. You see the hat of the disputed figure. And you see another whose head is truly blocking the light. Now, that's what shadow looks like.

So, that looks realistic, but not this:

And again, if you look closely, you can see the arm of the glasses.

Can't you see the arm of the glasses projecting past the ear? I can. Can't you see it right in front of the ear? I can. Are you going to attribute all of that to shadow, and one cast by his own head?

It's ridiculous Backes. You're really stupid. You were born stupid, and that you spew is stupid. You don't know what you are talking about.
