They cleared the basement. Reporters were in there waiting for Oswald to be brought out, but they were told they had to leave. Why? BECAUSE THEY NEEDED TO HAVE THEIR SCUFFLE WITH JACK RUBY IN PRIVATE. That's why. And when it was done, they allowed them to go back.
