The house was built for one of the original Warner Brothers in the 1930s, so it's considered a relic from the Golden Age of Hollywood. It's the highest amount- by far- ever paid for a house in Los Angeles.
I don't care that Bezos is so rich, but what bothers me is that the same economic conditions that made him the richest man in the world has left millions irreparably poor. And what do the irreparably poor when they are young and have no opportunities? They often go into the Military. That's right; they become the fodder for our wars, not because they want to, but because their opportunities are so limited.
And I suspect that was true for 21 year old Spc. Brandon Kimball who died yesterday in Afghanistan. I have his picture, but I'm not going to put it up. The U.S. Military said that he died in a non-combat related incident, and that is usually code for suicide. The U.S. Military has a lot of suicides, about a one a day. The suicide count in 2018 was 321. Suicides in the military are substantially higher than in the general population.
What's Bezos ever done to stop any wars? Nothing. Enjoy your money, Bezos. Enjoy your mansions. Buy another dozen for all I care. Throw some lavish parties. You won't be plagued with any thoughts about the Brandon Kimballs, will you?
