Today we honor the memory of the 2,977 people whose lives were taken on 9/11, the thousands who have since died from 9/11-related illnesses, and the million or more killed in the post-9/11 wars.
I am reminded of what happened with JFK; the people living in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, who heard the news that JFK has been killed and not realizing, at that moment, that it was all over for them too, that it was their death sentence as well, that their lives would soon end because of what happened to him. It was the same for over 50,000 young Americans.
