I am now providing the link to the Love Field footage that shows Kellerman following JFK to the limo. As JFK gets into the limo, Kellerman goes to the front seat and leans in and gets something. Then, he goes back alongide Kennedy, who is seated, and leans in and turns his head to the left to talk to Kennedy. Then Kellerman stands and waits about 10 seconds before boarding the limo himself.
Then, the limo starts moving, but you don't see JFK right away. He has to move into view. But, before he does, there is splice that jumps to a closeup of him and Jackie from another camera. It jumps back and forth between the wide angle and the close-up, such that his handling of the tie is never shown. There's no doubt that it happened because the White House Historical Association said it did. And remember, there is the whole story about Jackie giving the Ft. Worth tie to their doorman, Preston Bruce.
So, here is the link. You can start at 23:50. It's at 24 minutes that Kellerman is waiting for JFK to put the tie on that there is a little flutter of motion that is most likely Kennedy's hands manipulating the tie.
