Judyth has some 'splainin' to do. This postcard from her husband, Robert Baker, surfaced, dated July 1963.
That definitely looks like JUL for July. And what's next to it? 28?
So, it sounds like he was in New Orleans, and he mailed her a post card from New Orleans to New Orleans? He said: Just stopped in New Orleans and thought I'd drop a line. But, she was in New Orleans. Look at the address. He mailed it to her in New Orleans.
So, this is very strange if you ask me, but here's the other thing: Judyth has said that Robert abandoned her right after their wedding. That he disappeared and told her nothing about where he was going or when he was coming back. Now, if that's true, the card seems strange because it seems that he would start with something like: "I know you haven't heard from me in a long time, but here's what happened..."
Unless, such a card or letter preceded this one. But, I don't think we can be presumptuous about that. This card has an "all's well" feeling to it, don't you think? "Eat enough and take care of yourself 'cause I'm loving you." Hey, the guy had a way with words; I'll credit him for that. That sounds like the lyric to a country/western song. But, it certainly doesn't sound like a guy who was out of touch with his wife.
But, July 28, if that's correct, would have been after Judyth was fired from Reilly Coffee Company, and I thought she went back to Florida immediately. In fact, in that recent interview, she said she had to hightail it out of New Orleans pronto or else they were going to kill her. But, apparently, Robert Baker assumed that his wife was still living in New Orleans as of the end of the month of July.
So, what gives, Judyth?
