Jim Fetzer published this tilted version of the Moorman photo which provides the look of the road being slanted.

And notice that the pergola no longer looks like the Leaning Tower of Piza. It looks vertical. It's not parallel with the top of the picture, but that's because the top of the picture should be horizontal and it isn't. If it were horizontal, then the pergola would be parallel to it.

So, the tilted version looks better, much better, but how do you account for it? Do you want to say that Mary had her camera tilted? No, she didn't.

The Moorman photo was a larger photo, taken by Babushka Lady, which they took a cookie-cutter to. And when I say larger, I mean it had a larger field.  And after they cropped it and got the rectangle they wanted, they blew it up and took a Polaroid of it, and that became the Moorman photo. The field of view was bigger because it had to be bigger, as Babushka Lady was shooting at an angle that captured more. It's the difference between shooting perpendicularly or shooting diagonally. Shooting diagonally captures more. But, they had to make BL's photo look like Mary's, so they cropped it. And in the process, they lost the slant in the road.
