Here is an interesting paradox: We are told over and over that the reason Jack Ruby shot Oswald is because he wanted to spare Jackie Kennedy the strain of a trial and the burden of having to return to Texas to testify. 

And note that that reason is not given as an insane reason. It's given as a plausible reason. 

It's not like with John Hinckley. Hinckley supposedly shot Reagan to win the favor of Jody Foster. Now, that's insane. Jack Ruby's reason isn't presented in that light.

Yet, his defense attorney did have him plead innocent on the basis of insanity.

So, what sense is there in that? - to provide this lucid, understandable, plausible reason for killing Oswald, and then to tack on: "Oh, and by the way, I'm also insane."

We rarely hear about Ruby's insanity plea. It's not part of the spiel about him. No, the spiel is that he killed Oswald to spare Jackie, spare Jackie, spare Jackie. 

And Ruby did say it himself. In fact, he said it a lot. He said it the way the guys did in The Manchurian Candidate. "Raymond Shaw is the kindest, bravest, warmest, nicest human being I have ever met in my life."

  
You see the Establishment doesn't want us focusing on the question of Jack Ruby's sanity. Just say it over and over:  Jack Ruby shot Oswald to spare Jackie the strain of a trial. Jack Ruby shot Oswald to spare Jackie the strain of a trial. Jack Ruby shot Oswald to spare Jackie the strain of a trial. Keep saying it over and over, and you'll be a good little minion of the fascist state.
