The Very Thought Of It Is Insane
by Ralph C. Cinque
Invariably, when people commit murder, they do it to get something, to obtain something. There is a benefit to them, or at least something that they perceive to be a benefit. Often, it's money, as in killing someone close to you for life insurance or inheritance. It might be the love of a woman, say, if it involves killing her unwanted husband. It might be children, as in killing your ex-wife so that you get the kids. It might just be the satisfaction of revenge: as in killing someone that you hate and feel extremely bitter towards, but even that is rather rare. If that's all you're getting- the satisfaction of revenge and nothing else- why bother? Why take the risk?
But, in Oswald's case, what was he getting by killing Kennedy? Money? No. Love? No. The satisfaction of revenge? No. What did Kennedy ever do to him? Children? No. On the contrary, he would be losing his kids. The satisfaction of killing someone he hated and despised? No. Oswald didn't hate Kennedy. There isn't the slightest indication that he did. In fact, all the evidence points to the opposite, that he admired Kennedy.
Often, we are told that he did it to become famous, to be recognized for changing history, for leaving his mark on the world, etc. But, wouldn't that mean he had to get caught? But, don't people commit crimes, including murder, with the expectation of getting away with it? If he got away with it, then he would get no recognition. Right?
Or, was Oswald thinking that they would figure out it was him, and publicize it, so that he would get to read his name in the paper, which he so desperately wanted, but that he'd be able to give them the slip- forever.
But, how would he live? And where would he live? He'd have to go away, right? WC attorney David Belin said when Oswald was walking down 10th Street he was heading for Mexico- forever.
How could David Belin possibly claim to know that? Based on what piece of evidence? We are dealing with, supposedly, an insane killer, but what we really have is an insane lawyer.
Mexico? With $14 in his pocket? And having not so much as a change of clothes or a toothbrush, never mind a car? To survive how? With his pistol, holding people up, according to Belin. Yeah, that's right. That's what Belin said.
But, what about his family? So, for the satisfaction of killing Kennedy, Oswald was willing to never see his family again? And leave them destitute? But, didn't Oswald return to Dallas from New Orleans just for them? Name one other person in the Dallas area that meant anything to Oswald. His mother? He had no contact with her the entire time he was in New Orleans. She wasn't even invited to the Oswald family Thanksgiving the previous November, just one year before. Did I mention that Oswald had no friends? No friends, no friends, no friends, no friends, no friends, no friends, no friends. His family, his wife and children, meant everything to him.
Granted, murderers are often mentally deranged, but even in their derangement, they have a sense of self-interest, of personal benefit, which they think will be served by committing the murder. But in this case, it is inconceivable and unimaginable that Oswald would think, even for a nano-second, that his self-interest would be served by killing Kennedy.
To think that Oswald killed Kennedy is STUPID. Astoundingly stupid.
And speaking of astounding stupidity, why didn't those idiot lawyers Larry Schnapf and Bill Simpich on Thursday and Friday point out to the jury that Oswald had NO MOTIVE whatsoever to kill Kennedy? Wouldn't that have been better than waxing on and on about the bullets, the wounds, the head movement, the fragments, etc.?
And in his pro-Communist, pro-Castro leanings, wasn't Oswald better off having Kennedy in the White House than LBJ? Wouldn't he have known that?
It has reached the point that it is insane to believe that Lee Harvey Oswald killed Kennedy. The very idea of it is insane. I'm not saying that everyone who believes it is insane throughout their lives, but in that particular thought, in that particular mental exercise, they are insane.
