So, you see where his elbow is; you see where his forearm is; and you see where his upper arm is. Nothing is hidden. But, in this other photo, in which they are claiming that the whiteness is a forearm, why don't we see his upper arm?

There is never any mystery where the parts are.
It really is a grotesque image. It's not just altered: it is grotesquely altered. Why didn't anyone say something to Joseph Ball such as, "Man, this is one freaky image. I never saw anything like it before." They didn't say it because Joseph Ball was the Emperor, and they weren't going to tell the Emperor that he was wearing no clothes. Would you?
