Great post, you’re exactly right about the relationship between JPK Sr. And FDR.
I’ve always been suspicious about the circumstances of Joe Jr.’s death. Evidently Joe Sr was too. (He once famously asked Harry Truman “why are you supporting that son of a bitch who killed my son Joe?” )
It is interesting to note that FDR’s son Elliott Roosevelt was in the follow up plane behind Joe Jr. and watched it blow up... I’ve often wondered if there was a detonator in that follow up plane ...

Ralph Cinque Wow. That's eerie because RFK asked LBJ the same question about JFK to his face. I've done more reading on it, and FDR and Joe Kennedy Sr. went from being tight as thieves to arch enemies. And to this day we have never been given a satisfying explanation for why those explosives detonated on the plane. I say it stinks. It stinks out loud.
