But, the latest U.S.Intelligence spewing is that the Russians paid the Taliban a bounty to kill American servicemen in Afghanistan. That is so ridiculous. The Taliban had its own incentive to kill Americans. They wanted America out, and they knew that American deaths would derail support for the war, that Americans would demand that we leave. The Taliban didn't have to be paid a bounty to do it.
This article is by an American, but it's on RT, Russia Today, the Russian-sponsored media outlet in the West.

And now, the very latest intelligence is that the Taliban is sponsoring Al Qaeda on the Indian subcontinent, and I am just going to post the Taliban's response because every bit of it makes sense.
Remarks by spokesman of Islamic Emirate regarding report by US Defense Department that we have been supporting Al Qaeda in India
A report by the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) compiled for the congress stated that the Islamic Emirate continues to support Al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent.
We strongly reject this report and consider it propaganda and unsubstantiated for the following reasons:
– The Islamic Emirate, in line with its own policy, does not interfere in the affairs other countries hence it does not seek to support anyone working outside the borders of Afghanistan in India or any other country.
– Afghanistan is under the direct occupation of America and its allies for the past nineteen years and the Afghans under the leadership of the Islamic Emirate are fighting a great war of independence and establishment of an Islamic government. How is it then possible that we support anyone outside our borders when we ourselves are engaged in such a burdensome war?
– The Islamic Emirate signed an agreement with the United States on the 29th February 2020 and is currently using all means at its disposal for its implementation and bringing comprehensive peace to Afghanistan.
On the aforementioned grounds, the Islamic Emirate does not support any foreign organization in the Indian Subcontinent or any other place.
It is very unfortunate the US Defense Department has published such an irresponsible report of propaganda conducted to confuse common thinking at such a sensitive time.
We call on American officials to remain committed to the Doha agreement and to end propaganda based on false information. They must stop individuals in the US military apparatus from using propaganda to seek war in Afghanistan for their own personal interests or the interests of defense companies.
RC: I would seriously like to know something: Why, after so many false spewings that have caused wars and killed millions does anyone put any stock in what U.S.Intelligence says?
