I deleted my previous post because of information that came in from Kees Degeling. It turns out that the trunk of the tree that was behind the Thornton Freeway sign was very far to the left, and you can see it in another frame of the Zapruder film. It pops up for just a second.
But, that opens up a whole other can of worms because it makes the tree gargantuan. It wasn't like that. It wasn't as wide as that; it didn't jut out as far; and it wasn't as dense. In fact, it was rather sparse and airy. There was no thick canopy. The tree on the right looks like it was growing in a desert rather than a rain forest. The lushness of the tree in the Z-film is art. The whole thing is art. The tree and the sign weren't there. They were lower on Elm St. Both the Stemmons sign and the Thornton sign in the Zapruder film are bogus.
