Here is Earl Golz' obituary. He died in 2014.

So, the Dallas Morning News fired him over an article about a troubled bank, but they didn't fire him for the article about Carolyn Arnold claiming to see Oswald eating in the 2nd floor lunch room five minutes before the killing.

Is it necessary for me to point out that since Day 1, the Dallas Morning News has adamantly supported the official story? They were very involved on the very day. Didn't Altgens take his film there to be developed? Hasn't the Dallas Morning News partnered with the Sixth Floor museum on various projects promoting the official story? Hasn't the DMN been over-zealous in supporting it? And I mean to a messianic degree?

Then why the hell would they want to spread the idea that Oswald was in the 2nd floor lunch room 5 minutes before the shooting?

Because it's preposterous. It's ridiculous. But, it served a purpose: it reversed her original statement about Oswald being near the doorway- in spades.

The whole 1978 Carolyn Arnold reemergence was an Op thing; a CIA thing. They were playing us, meaning the conspiracy believers and Oswald defenders. It was their way of saying,

"Hey, look over here. Get your mind out of the fucking doorway, and look over here. Look what we got. We got Oswald in the lunch room. Nice, huh? Oswald. Sitting there. Just 5 minutes before the shooting. Only 5 fucking lousy minutes before the shooting. What the fuck? Isn't it good? Isn't it better?  So, you keep looking at this, and never mind that other thing. You don't need it. You just pay attention to this. You go with this."
