So, on November 29, LIFE magazine said nothing about Oswald's Thursday night trip to Irving. Why?
First, we need to establish what really happened. Obviously, Oswald didn't go to Irving to get a rifle, since he didn't even own a rifle. So, why did he go there?
The answer is pretty obvious: it was to leave the money he had with Marina, $170. That was equivalent to more than $1700 today. That is a lot of cash. I'd bet that neither Bill Gates nor Elon Musk walk around with $1700 in cash.
So, where did Oswald get it? Someone must have given it to him. Don't try to tell me that he saved it up because that is absurd. Somebody gave it to him. And whoever gave it to him must have chastened him: "Now, you get that money out to your wife in Irving right away, because you can't leave it in that sleazy boarding house, not with you being gone all day."
So, what did Oswald tell Frazier? Hardly anything. He probably just said that he needed to discuss something with his wife. And it would have been very rude for Frazier to inquire further. It was none of his business. And I'm sure he didn't.
So, what about the curtain rods? Oswald never mentioned them. He had no need to.
What about the bag? There was no bag. Oswald didn't have a wad of brown paper stuffed in his pants. And he never constructed any bag. I'm going to attach the picture of the bag, the one that Detective Montgomery paraded around Dealey Plaza. It is not something that anyone could have made from rolled brown paper and tape. It is a manufactured bag. And if you think otherwise, then you get some rolled brown paper and tape, and let's see you make it.
And don't you find it strange that the bag would be intact? Not torn anywhere from hard, jagged rifle parts? And not torn by Oswald when he was removing the rifle from it? So, instead of just ripping the paper open, he carefully poured the contents out? Is that what we're supposed to believe?
So, what happened the next morning? Oswald did have a paper bag which contained his lunch. I don't know how big the bag was, but it may have been larger than a standard lunch bag. Maybe Ruth Paine didn't have any standard lunch bags. But, it's part of the record that Oswald brought lunch, cheese sandwiches and an apple, and that he ate in the domino room on the 1st floor, as he always did.
But, just think about what Police could have done. They could have gone to the domino room and looked for the remnants of his lunch. And if they didn't find them, such as a discarded bag, sandwich wrappings, maybe crusts of bread, and certainly an apple core, they could have cried bloody murder. And they did go and inspect the domino room. They found his jacket there, which means they went there and looked.
I realize that these guys weren't Columbo, but don't you think they must have looked in the trash for the remnants of his lunch? How could they not? And I think they must have found it because if they didn't find it, they would have screamed bloody murder that he lied.
So, I think they knew that Oswald was telling the truth about having brought his lunch and having eaten it where he claimed to eat it.
And to the people who think that Oswald ate in the 2nd floor lunchroom, why then was his jacket found in the domino room?
Look: the 2nd floor lunch story did not surface until over 5000 days after the assassination. It was lie; to distract from Oswald being in the doorway during the shooting. Oswald ate lunch in the 1st floor domino room.
So, unless they were extremely obtuse, Dallas Police must have found the evidence of Oswald's lunch in the domino room, which was very exonerating. And if you think they didn't find it, then why wouldn't they say so?
I can't explain what Frazier and his sister told the Warren Commission about Oswald's long bag and the way he carried it. And Frazier's claim about it and the curtain rods is contained in his affidavit on November 22. But, there is Oswald's denial; there is Marina saying that he only brought his lunch; and there is Jack Dougherty saying that Oswald came through the door with nothing in his hands. If Oswald was carrying his lunch, why didn't Dougherty see that bag? I can't explain that either.
But, why on November 29 would LIFE magazine not say a word about Oswald's trip to Irving on Thursday evening? They did mention a "long parcel, the size and shape of a rifle." But, they said nothing about Frazier or the circumstances of how Oswald, supposedly, obtained the rifle and brought it into the building.
