Oswald Innocence Campaign They were trying to hide the area of impact of the bullet because there was no impact. Oswald was not shot in the garage. He was shot afterwards. The garage spectacle was just that: a spectacle for television. It was pure theater. The Dallas Police shot Oswald in the garage once they got him inside. I figure they sedated him first. It was a precision shot. You might say a surgical short, meant to do the most destruction and cause the most internal bleeding. Then, it was a race against time, hoping he would bleed out before doctors could save him, and they succeeded. Oswald was, for all practical purposes, D.O.A. at Parkland.
