This is an assortment of JFK newspapers displayed on the Huffington Post. It includes only one showing of the Altgens 6 photo, one that we know about, the Montana Standard.
But otherwise, there are many showings of Altgens7 which according to officialdom was wired out at 12:55. That seems amazing in itself because the picture was taken at 12:30, and as Larry Rivera showed with pictures, Altgens hung around a little while after the motorcade went speeding off. But then, he ran it down to the Dallas Morning News, and his film got developed, and the captions got written, all in time to wire it at 12:55? That's only 25 minutes.
And by the way, Gary Mack actually referred to Carl E. Linde as "AP caption writer Carl E. Linde." He wasn't a caption writer; he was a photographer.
But, there are many showings of Altgens7 in this list, but only the one of Altgens6, which, as I said, we've known about; it's not something new. But, if all those editors received Altgens6 at about the same time (a few minutes later) why didn't they use it? Why would they prefer to use Altgens7 when it doesn't show anyone's face. It was used even though they couldn't even identify Clint Hill. They recognized Jackie, but again, you can't see her face. I'm no newspaper man, but I'm pretty sure that faces are big when it comes to photos. So, how can that compare to a photo in which you can see JFK's face and Connally's face?
The notion that hundreds of newspaper editors decided to pass on Altgens6 in favor of Altgens7 is just a stupid backesism.
Here's the link to the Huff Post display. And understand something: the absence of Altgens6 in many hundreds of papers carries far more weight than its appearance in a handful.
