What is Ruby supposed to be doing in this picture?

I've seen the film, and the camera scans rightward after that and eventually lands on Oswald in the front of the room. So here, Ruby is way in the back of a long room. So, why is he leaning? What does it accomplish? Do you think it's to see better or hear better? But, that is ridiculous because the small increment of getting closer that is involved is pointless and without impact. If you were already close to someone, just a few feet away, and you leaned, that would make a difference. But, this would have made no difference to vision or hearing. And please note that Ruby is too small there. Look how much larger the head is of the man in front of him. And Ruby didn't have a small head. He would have looked larger than this if he was there. And notice that there is a wall right next to him. So, he can't possibly be much deeper in the picture than that other guy. But, both his head and his body are too small compared to that guy and all the other guys. The Wizard is right. Ruby was NOT there. And how could he be there and also be here?
