A Rick Bucciarelli wrote to Jim Fetzer, and Jim forwarded his letter to me, in which Rick expressed his opinion that the pipe smoker in the Homicide Bureau on 11/22/63 really was Bookhout. So now, for Rick's sake, I am going to spell out why that is not the case, why that guy can't possibly be James Bookhout.

First, we have to start with the images of James Bookhout that are definitely him. The image on the left is his LSU Law school image from 1937. The image on the right is the Garage Shooter when he was surrounded by the three detectives: Boyd, Sims, and Hall.

Both images are altered. There is no photographic reason why his eyes should be blackened on the right. Boyd's and Hall's were not blackened in the same photo. Do you know anything about photography? If you do, you know that that can't happen.

So, there is no excuse for his eyes being blackened. And they no doubt did more than that, messing with his nose, his eyebrows, his hair, and more. And on the younger Bookhout, they gave him elf ears; they gave him those ridiculous drag queen eyebrows, but despite all that was done to both of them, it is still very apparent that they are the same man separated by 26 years of time. We are looking at biology and genetics here.

So, this is James Bookhout at the time of the JFK assassination.

You can see the round face and short neck. And he makes a good father and son match with Jim Bookhout, his son.
Even though they blackened his eyes on the right and created a weird s-shape deviation to his nose and did other things, you can still see the family resemblance, can't you? But, why assume these two below are father and son?

Again, this is a matter of biology and genetics. But, there are many other reasons to reject that guy being Bookhout. First, look at the picture and the story it is telling.

That is the Homicide Bureau on November 22, 1963. James Bookhout is the chief liaison of the FBI with the Dallas Police Department. That is Captain Fritz in the whitest hat, and he is talking to those men. What do you think he is talking about? He is talking about the case, don't you think? He's not talking about the upcoming picnic of the Dallas Police Benevolence Society. He's talking about the case. Don't you think that James Bookhout would be more interested in listening to Fritz than sucking on a pipe? He's not even smoking it. You know how smokey pipes are. He's just sucking it, not smoking it.

You should realize that Bookhout was really in charge. Not Fritz. Bookhout. Look at the questioning of Oswald at the first interrogation. Asking him about going to Mexico City? About belonging to the Fair Play For Cuba Committee?  About Russia? The President of the United States and a police officer had been brutally murdered, and they were asking those questions? They arrested Oswald in the theater supposedly because he murdered Tippit, right? But, they didn't ask him a single question at that interrogation about Tippit, whether he knew him, whether he was at 10th and Patton, whether he shot him, etc. Nothing. Instead, they asked that other stuff, but where do you think it came from? It came from Bookhout. He had no interest in soliciting Oswald's alibi for the Tippit murder. He didn't need it, and he knew better than to ask for it.

So, you need to think of Fritz as Bookhout's puppet. That's all he was. And you can be damn-sure that Bookhout would have been glued to Fritz and wanting to process every word that came out of his mouth, and NOBODY would have been paying more attention to Fritz and the direction that his mind was going than Bookhout.

And why think that Bookhout smoked a pipe? The man lived to 97. It makes it very unlikely that he was a pipe smoker. Now, I know that there have been individuals who have smoked and lived beyond 100. But, they are exceptions, the rare exceptions; the  extremely rare exceptions. So, you don't go by that. You go by the fact that, by and large, smokers die younger.

And even if he were a pipe smoker, James Bookhout, of all people, would have been so focused on what he was doing, and trying to control the direction that the investigation was going, that he never would have never let himself be distracted with a pipe. At a time like that? You do realize that it was no ordinary day, right?

James Bookhout was the eyes, ears, and voice of the FBI during the investigation, and he is the only one who attended every single one of the Oswald interrogations besides Fritz.

Now, we have a good idea about the time of that photo. It was late afternoon. The reason we know that is because, first, Fritz didn't get back to the PD until late afternoon. He was busy. He was at the TSBD on the 6th floor searching for evidence. He didn't get back and start the interrogation of Oswald until 3:15. It ended at 4, and this had to be after it because Fritz was late. Oswald had been held there since 2:00 waiting for him, and you can be sure that Fritz got right to it when he returned to the PD. So, this was after that. So, it had to be after 4. Where was Oswald? We know where Oswald was. He was taken to the first lineup, and then he was properly booked, mug-shotted, finger-printed etc. And Bookhout attended all that. Bookhout followed Oswald like his shadow. Here's a picture of him:

So, this was after the first interrogation, and Oswald is being taken away to the lineup by his handlers: Boyd, Hall, and Sims. We can see Boyd and Hall there. Sims is not in view. Chief Curry is on the left. And there is a short man with a hat over his face, circled. That's Bookhout. We know it's Bookhout because they're leaving the office after the first interrogation, and in attendance was Fritz, Bookhout, Hosty, plus the detectives. And that's it. Now, that short guy wasn't Hosty. He wasn't short. Bookhout was short. He said he had to stand on a pedestal to locate Hosty in the hall. He said that he was on Main Street trying to watch the motorcade, but he never saw JFK because there were people in front of him. Bookhout was short. The hat, of course, is fake. That was added to cover his face. Why? Because he's Bookhout. It's no accident that there are no images of Bookhout from the JFK assassination- or thereafter. Or before, except for the school yearbook photos. But, Bookhout was the only one with a notebook at the Oswald interrogations. He said he had a notebook and took notes. And that short man is carrying a notebook. You can see it at the bottom of the circle.

So, they are leaving. And that was followed by this:

Now, you saw the Oswald escort party leave, which included Bookhout, and he admitted it. BOOKHOUT SAID THAT HE LEFT WITH THEM TO ATTEND THE LINEUP. So, this can't be Bookhout. And I can guarantee  you that if Bookhout were there, he would have been honed in on what Fritz was saying and putting in his two cents to steer him in the right direction. So, the "story" of this picture is absolutely preposterous. But, let's take a close look at the image.

Do you notice the wild hair on top? And notice how long it is. Are you aware all the FBI agents had very close-cropped, buzz-cut type haircuts. So, the idea that he wore his hair like that is ridiculous. But, look at the peninsular section in front. Look how short it is. Notice that it doesn't even look like hair. It looks like somebody took a Sharpie and colored it in. There is nothing that suggests that it's hair. It's paint. And tell me, who would wear his hair so long and wild on top but then cut it as short as we see it there in front? Do you think an FBI agent would do that? In 1963?

And look how weird his glasses are. Look how weird the lens is on his left, our right. Do you think maybe they were added to the photo to obscure his face? Look how weird his nose is:

Have you ever seen a nose like that on a man before? It looks like a pig's nose. This is Bookhout's nose in the school photo.

They are definitely not the same nose, but it's worse than that. The only grown  man with a nose like we see on the right was Michael Jackson, and he got his from multiple surgeries.

The point is that it's a freak photo. Not only is it not Bookhout, but it isn't anybody who is real. It must have started with a real photo of somebody, but then with everything they did to it- his hair, his glasses, his nose, it's just a freak now. It has no bearing on Bookhout or anyone else- not even the guy it started out as.

So, there is NO CHANCE that this man is James Bookhout.

I have given you multiple reasons why he can't be Bookhout, and I only have to be right about one of them. Any one of them is a deal-breaker. And this photo didn't even appear until after I started proclaiming that James Bookhout was the real Garage Shooter of Lee Harvey Oswald, not Jack Ruby. It was only after that that the National Archives in Maryland released this image to someone. But, why would an image of James Boohout have been secreted for over half  a century? Presumably, it's a press photo, right? What else? Therefore, why wasn't it in circulation all along? What we are looking at is a desperate and pathetic attempt to conjure up an image of James Bookhout, but this fakery fails miserably.

I'll finish be quoting by James Bookhout. This is from his WC testimony. He said that he remained in Fritz' office during the jail transfer. Why didn't he go down for it? He attended everything else. No reason. But then, when he got word that Oswald had been shot, he went down to the jail office, and saw Oswald crumpled on the floor, dying. And then, he said he followed Oswald's stretcher out to the garage to be loaded into the ambulance. That's what Bookhout said he did. We have that in writing. We have that from him under oath.

So, that's the stretcher, and that's Bookhout following it, looking down, looking nervous, and looking guilty because he was the Garage Shooter. But, don't worry: he didn't actually shoot Oswald. It was all fake, and Oswald was shot afterwards. But, James Bookhout was the one playing Jack Ruby during the Garage Spectacle.  And about that, there is not a smidgen of doubt.
