Trump has pardoned four Blackwater contractors who were convicted of killing innocent civilians in Iraq, and it is causing outrage. This article in USA Today puts it in perspective,.

And it's not that I disagree with any of it, but, the criminality didn't start with those contractors. The criminality started with George W. Bush. He's the one who launched the war. He set it in motion. He's the one who should be in prison, more than anyone else. Every single claim Bush made to justify the Iraq War proved to be a lie. And, you can't fall back on, "But, Saddam Hussein was a bad guy anyway, and the Iraqi people are better off without him." That's irrelevant. War is the worst thing there is, and nobody has the right to start one on such a basis. The whole idea of preemptive war is a false concept. The same goes for "just war" because it's used to justify starting wars. Starting a war is always wrong. It's what led to the Blackwater contractors being there in Iraq.  What they did was the direct result of what Bush did in starting the war and sending them there. And what they did is just one example of many monstrous acts that were committed during the Iraq war.  Really,  the whole war was a monstrous act. George W. Bush had no legal or moral right to launch the war. So, the question is: when is George W. Bush going to face justice?
