I can tell you exactly how they altered the Zapruder film. It wasn't that different from how my films are edited. Take this, for example.
On the right, that Wanted poster says ABDUL LATIF HASSAN, but when they created the art, they made it Latiff. I didn't want the second f, so I asked my editor to get rid of it. So, he created an eraser function, and he colored the eraser beige like that poster. And then he just erased the redundant f. It was on the screen for a little over a second, and it was 24 frames per second, so he had to erase it about 30 times.
By the way, it's a great film, My Stretch of Texas Ground, and you can watch it for free now on Tubi. It's about a terrorist attack that falls on the shoulders of a small town Texas sheriff. Here's the link:

But, getting to the Zapruder film, they had a problem that Kennedy was shot in the back high on the hill, and he was reacting to it. He must have startled, and then he must have acquired a very distressed look. I'm sure they cut out the frames of the hit and the startle, but it was still obvious that he wasn't smiling and waving any more, and he was in distress. So, they had to cover up his face. The way they did it was to paint a hand over his face.
This is Zapruder 189.
Kennedy is OK here. He's looking at the spectators and waving. All is well. But then, he was hit in the back. It was high on the hill. The freeway sign is fake. Let's go to 195.
They blurred frames, as needed, to make it work, including this frame. And here we see that his hand is over his face.
You can't see any features. It's all a blur. But, he's looking straight ahead. His head isn't turned. And he seems to have his hand over his face, but it isn't real. Somebody called it a painful claw hand, as if he had one. He didn't. He wasn't shot in the hand, and there is no reason to believe he put his hand over his face. But, he wasn't a happy camper any more, and his face showed it. That's what they needed to cover up with the hand. So, they painted it. Let's jump to 198.
Still a hand over his face. Jackie said that she turned and saw that her husband had a "quizzical" look on his face. She didn't say he had a hand over his face, but rather, a quizzical look. And it would have been right about then. Let's look at 200.
Look how crude it is. The hand is just a blob. But, that was the best they could do. Decades have passed, and how many thousands of people have studied the Zapruder film? How many of them even noticed that Kennedy has his hand over his face? Let's try 205.
Now he's getting close to disappearing behind the bogus sign, so they are almost done with this phase. Jackie is definitely turned and looking at him. So, he isn't waving and engaging with the crowd, and neither is she. You think maybe something is wrong? What could it be? It wasn't indigestion. Here's 207.
He's dipping towards that sign. But next, I have to go to 213 because I can't get it to stop on any frames in-between. They did something there to really speed it up.
Now, he's gone, but we can still see the top of Jackie's head, and she is definitely turned towards him and looking at him. According to the official story, the Magic Bullet is about to hit, but in actual fact, the throat shot is about to hit. But, before we leave this, we're looking at a 6 frame difference, so theoretically 1/3 second. Do you really think that much change could take place in 1/3 second? Of course not.
They removed a lot of frames, and that's why you can't go by any of the times in the Zapruder film. It underwent Frankenstinian alteration. If I were forced to say when the throat shot hit, I'd say maybe 220. But, it's a futile exercise because it's so manipulated.
But, without a doubt, Kennedy was hit in the back high on the hill. It was not a regular bullet. If it were, and it just pierced for an inch or so, he would have known that he was shot, and he would have been at full capacity to respond and react effectively. But, it was, in fact, an ice bullet that delivered one or more drugs, including a nerve agent which caused his muscles to seize up, which is why later, we see him holding his arms raised and flexed. He simply couldn't put them down. He had no control over his body.
The nerve agent did that to him. And it just kept getting worse.
Those spasms must have been painful, poor guy. We are not looking at the effect of trauma. We are looking at the effect of a drug, a poison.
Anyway, that is how they hid the fact that JFK was shot in the back high on the hill with a nerve agent. They wanted the story to be that he got all the way to the sign (which was much lower on the hill than it appears in the Zapruder film) without being struck, and then everything happened behind the sign. That sign, that bogus sign, was like the magician's curtain.
