Forget it, Backes. The Altgens photo was taken at 12:30, and it was first seen by the public the evening of November 22nd when Walter Cronkite showed it on CBS News. That's what's real. That's what counts. Your claim that the "the world" saw it at 1:00 PM is just plain bull shit.

I don't know the exact time of Cronkite's presentation, but it was about 7 PM Eastern. This is the version that he showed:

It's very crappy, but that's what he showed, and it was the first public showing. Nothing came before that. What Backes said about the world seeing the Altgens photo at 1:00 Central, 2:00 Eastern is pure bull shit.

And the link to Jaggars-Chiles-Stovall is very strong. They definitely did photo processing. They definitely did it for the CIA and the DOD.  They did classified work for them. They were very close to Dealey Plaza- walking distance. Plans for doing this kind of thing would surely have been made in advance because they would have anticipated the need for it. They were going to tell a certain story, and the images may have conflicted with that story, so they would have to fix the pictures. They knew this. And since Oswald had worked at Jaggars-Chiles-Stovall, it means that they already knew about him. And then when you add the fact that Roscoe White stated that JCS was the "operational headquarters" for the assassination, you have good reason to conclude that the Altgens photo was altered there.

It is absolutely certain that the Altgens photo was altered, as it is one of the most altered photos in the history of photography. And there is every good and sound reason to think that it was done right there in downtown Dallas, not far from Dealey Plaza. And there is no one more compelling than Jaggars-Chiles-Stovall to have been the ones to have done it.
