No,David, the woman couldn't be holding her. First, it's obvious that the girl is SITTING. She's in a sitting position. She's definitely sitting on something, as surely as LIncoln is sitting in the Lincoln Memorial.
Now, if, for some reason, we couldn't see his chair, and only him, we would still know that he is sitting because he's in a sitting position. And it's the same with her. So, she isn't being held by anybody. She is sitting on something. And she could not possibly be sitting on the woman's arm. First, the woman isn't nearly strong enough. Second, the surface of her hand or even her whole forearm would not be large enough to provide a seat for the girl. It is a bogus image. Stop defending it!
