Holy Cow!  Big Find!  Big Huge Find!

Listen to Oswald's voice from this radio interview in New Orleans concerning his pro-Castro activities. Listen to his accent, that is, his complete lack of any trace of a New Orleans accent.

And close to the start, the interviewer asks him where he's from, and Oswald says:

"I was born in New Or-LEANS'."

New Or-LEANS'?  Nobody from New Orleans says it like that. They say, "New AW'-lins".

Even here in Texas where I live, NOBODY but nobody says
"New Or-LEANS'
" accenting the last syllable. That is an East Coast thing. The Oswald we know, the Oswald of fame, was an East Coast guy.

And even if you try to claim that he shed his New Orleans accent, he would never start saying New Or-LEANS' like a New Yorker.

I lived in Oregon for 4 years. Before I moved there, I said "Ore-e-GONE' " with the accent on the last syllable, but when I got there I found out that Oregonians say "OR-y-gun". I don't live in Oregon any more and haven't for a long time, but I still say ORygun. I didn't go back to saying Ore-e-GONE.

So, when Oswald said, "I was born in New Or-LEANS" there is no doubt whatsoever that he was lying.

John Armstrong is right: the Oswald of fame wasn't really Lee Harvey Oswald. It wasn't his real name. That was just an assumed identity for him.
