It is incredibly stupid to say that the abnormality of Hickey's head is due to pixellating, to stretching the image. If that were true, the whole image and everything in it would be distorted the same. But, it's only him.
The effect that Backes is talking about can't possibly affect one small part of the image and nothing else. That's ridiculous. The whole image would be affected. But here, only Hickey is affected. Nothing else. So, it's not that.
