Biden just said that we accomplished our mission in Afghanistan by killing Osama bin laden in 2011. The reality is that OBL died in 2001 of kidney failure, and whoever they killed in 2011 wasn't him. But, even if it were true that the man we killed in 2011 was OBL, it happened in Pakistan, not Afghanistan. So, it doesn't justify the Afghanistan War.
Then, Biden said that the other success of the war was to make Afghanistan no longer a safe haven for terrorists, but that is ridiculous too. The whole claim is ridiculous because terrorists can't harm the United States from Afghanistan. If they have to be somewhere, Afghanistan is a great place for them to be, from our perspective. The idea that ridding every nook and cranny in Afghanistan of terrorists makes Americans safer is not just ridiculous; it's insane.
So, the situation is that we have a very stupid President saying very stupid things to a very stupid following.
