I decided to trade in my old digital piano for a new one: a Yamaha Clavinova CLP 545. And, I can tell you that they have come a long way in improving these digital pianos. This one has a much better sound, and it has the feel of an acoustic. And to celebrate the occasion and showcase the piano, I decided to record another song, You Stepped Out of a Dream by Nacio Herb Brown.

The song was written in 1940 for Lana Turner, that is, for a role she was playing in the movie The Ziegfeld Girl. But then, it became her personal theme song- for the rest of her life.  Whenever she entered a nightclub or restaurant or went on stage to give or receive an award, they played it. The song was used in other movies, and eventually, it was added to the musical Singing in the Rain, which was scored by Nacio Herb Brown.

So, this is NHB's second-biggest hit, after Singing in the Rain

I apologize for the vocals. I know my voice is none too good. But, the fact is: there was no one else to do it, and I wanted people to hear the words-  the fabulous lyrics by Gus Kahn.

So, with no further adieu, I give you: You Stepped Out of a Dream.
