We're having a lively discussion tonight within the circle of the OIC. This came in from Dennis Cimino:

Concerning the 'patsy' thing, the CIA wouldn't have put all bets on LHO. He was surely the main patsy, but they would have patsified more than one person and had a PLAN B and PLAN C to float in reserve if for some reason LHO failed to show up to work that morning- or if the frame-job of him failed for some other reason. They couldn't risk blowing the whole gig if Oswald decided to take a hike or was sick and couldn't come to work. And what if he didn't confine himself to the doorway? Were they going to tackle him there and create a scene?
My best educated guess is that they had to patsify no less than '3' people that day, with alternate plans for Rubinstein to come in and shoot whomever was in custody to prevent that person from going to trial and possibly blowing the case wide open.
So, the theory of alternative patsies is sound because I don't think they could risk LHO not coming in, leaving NO SHOOTER with a dead president leaking his life's blood all over the place shot by 'mystery meat' unknown shooter(S) who shapeshifted and escaped the scene of the crime.

And this was my response to Dennis:

Absolutely right, Dennis, and you said it well. They had to know that there was no guarantee that the framing of Oswald was going to work. It might have gone wrong. There were a lot of unknowns. And, they couldn't let the crime of the century go unsolved. Somebody shot Kennedy, but he got clean away? How was that going to play in Peoria? Plus consider that without solving it, how could they claim that it was done by a lone gunman? To claim a lone gunman, you have to produce a lone gunman.

So, my number one candidate for their alternate patsy is: Billy Nolan Lovelady. Any other nominations?
