Dear Ralph,

I am well into reading The Devil's Chessboard.  It is a devastating account of so-called "American Democracy".  Ignored by all the interviews I have seen so far is the fact that Talbot ties Dulles activities directly into the needs of capitalism,  colonialism and neo-colonialism, Wallstreet, the ownership and control of the media.  I am telling you this book is a blockbuster. If you haven't already,  I encourage you to get it and read it.  Something must be done to get it out to people.  Below is an interview from Salon, but like I said, "None of these interviews does it justice."  The evidence this book assembles makes it clear that it is completely impossible that Allen Dulles was not at the center of the conspiracy to kill JFK.

All the best,
Marty

Ralph Cinque:

Marty, I will take your advice, and I am also going to put what you wrote up on the OIC blog so that others can see it. I get over a thousand hits a day now.

I'm glad you wrote me about this because I had read this review of the book, which starts off sounding positive, but then turns very negative.

For instance, he asks, if all this is true, then why did JFK's hand-picked replacement, John McCone, not stand up for Kennedy, and why not also his own brother Robert Kennedy? But, that's what YOU, Marty, have been saying for a long time that nobody did, except people like Mark Lane, Vince Salandria, Harold Weisberg, and Mort Sahl.  But, it's true that nobody in JFK's administration stood up for him, not even his own brother.

But, that doesn't prove that an evil cabal didn't kill Kennedy. It only proves that the tidal wave of acceptance of the official story instantly became a litmus test of loyalty and patriotism to the government and to the country. Not accepting it meant: you don't love America. And the truth is: most people are weak. Most people are followers; they follow the herd. They don't determine reality for themselves. They wait until the authorities tell them what is real.

Another thing the reviewer did was haul out the tired old claim that Robert Kennedy requested Allen Dulles be appointed to the Warren Commission. Why would he want someone that his brother fired to be on it? The fact is that LBJ didn't start making that claim until Robert Kennedy was dead.  What does that tell you?

I have ordered the book, and I thank you for the link. And, thanks for staying in touch.

Ralph
