OIC senior member Stephen Requa has written an article about a major swindle that happened to him, but it also had very significant ramifications beyond him of great historical impact. And, it has just been published on Veterans Today by Dr. Kevin Barrett.

I bet you didn't know that President Herbert Hoover was not like most Presidents, who have been lawyers and lifelong politicians. Hoover, who only served one term, was one of the most famous and highly respected geologists of his time. And when his term as President was over, he was still young enough and healthy enough to go back to geology, which he did. And what he did was team up with another famous geologist of that era, a man named Mark Requa, who was Steve's grandfather. And what they did was conduct a multi-year investigation to discover the greatest gold mining properties in the Western Hemisphere. And the result of that was a compendium that became known as the Requa-Hoover files.

The files fell into the hands of Mark Requa's son Lawrence Requa, who was Steve's father and also a geologist. And Steve, himself, is also a geologist, trained at Stanford University. But, what happened after that sounds like the plot of The Maltese Falcon starring Humphrey Bogart, in which people plotted and killed to steal a priceless statue. Likewise, there was murder involved in the theft of the Requa-Hoover files.

And, you can read about it here in this new article on Veterans Today.  It also includes a podcast of Steve's recent interview with Kevin Barrett.

I'll add that we are very lucky to have Stephen Requa in the OIC because he has a vast knowledge of history, and he puts the JFK assassination in historical perspective better than anyone else I know.
