Well, if they were just sitting in there, why isn't LBJ looking at the camera? How could he be so DETACHED from what is going on? He's like in his own world, like the Cigar Store Indian in Wiegman.

Backes said that that was Lovelady, and he had begun the mourning process for Kennedy, and that's why he's so detached, unlike Popeye. I will never stop laughing at that. 

But, in this picture, why is it that Lady Bird knows exactly what is going to on, what is happening, and she is behaving appropriately, while LBJ is lost in his own little world?
