Unger, you have really outdone yourself this time. You can't be serious about this picture. It is a complete joke.
You can see how heavily photoshopped the image is, and frankly, I don't think for one second that LBJ and his wife were actually sitting there. But, let's consider the "story" behind this picture. Supposedly, they're being photographed sitting in the limo, but where is the photographer? He must be in the seat in front of them on Lady Bird's side, right? Where else could he be?
So, they're all in this car together, and the cameraman is turned around shooting them with a camera. Lady Bird is obviously aware of him. She is sitting up straight and tall and looking right at the camera. But, LBJ is off in his own little world. Backes would probably say that he's mourning Kennedy. But, he is oblivious to what is going on. The photographer is saying "cheese" but LBJ doesn't hear him or see him. Here he is, the Leader of the Free World, which means wanting to portray strength and resolve, and he's all slumped and slouched.
And for some reason, he is also tiny. Look how massively wider his wife's shoulders are than his. I'm pretty sure that wasn't the case.
So, we have the unreal and the real:
And, look at the difference in the size of their hands in the car. Whose are bigger?
And before someone tries to say that it's all due to the perspective, I'll point out: THEY'RE IN THE SAME CAR.
And how about those shoulders on her?
Did Lady Bird play football in college? Because she looks like a linebacker compared to her husband, and he was a big guy.
And by the way, Unger, there is no taking this back. The evil genie is out of the bottle. I'm spreading this far and wide. This is going to be your swan song, that is, your ugly duckling song.
Of course, manipulating the size of someone in a photograph is not hard to do. Here is JFK and LBJ. Kennedy was 6 feet and one-half inch, and LBJ was 6'4". Yet, in the picture, JFK appears taller.
They did it that way because Kennedy was running for Prez and Johnson for VP. But, it seems awfully petty, I think, and frankly, I don't know that they would do such a thing today. It would be one thing if the difference was slight, but the fact is: LBJ was a quite a bit taller.
But, this image below is much worse. It is a complete laughing stock. And what I'd like to know is who the bonehead is who came up with it. How stupid does he think people are?
