These are supposed to be the same guy at the same moment in time and space. In one, his shirt is sprawled open widely; in the other, it's cinched up. Which one is accurate?

Well, the one on the left doesn't even look photographic. It looks more like a cartoon. So, I would say that there's more stock to put in the one on the right. 

But, the mere fact that they both exist is very troubling, unless you think it's possible for a guy to have his shirt sprawled open and cinched up at the same time. 

I have to wonder about the thought processes of someone who cites the image on the left to say, "You see; Lovelady had his shirt sprawled open." Does he not know that we know about the image on the right? Does he not know that contradictions between images of the same person at the same time causes great concern? 

Of course, there is more involved than that. There is a totally different shirt pattern on the left. Whatever that is, it isn't plaid; it's something else. 

This collage screams subterfuge, and it is inexcusable and indefensible. Only the stupid will try to defend it.
