Look at this! Larry Rivera made this overlay as a control. It consists of the Dallas mug shot with the New Orleans mug shot. Nobody doubts that that was the Oswald both times, right? Well, that's how well it matches when it is the same guy. Even though Oswald lost weight between New Orleans and Dallas, there is still a perfect overlay of the cranial and facial and neck features. That's what you can expect when it is the same guy. But now, look at the comparison of N.O. Oswald to the Backyard photo guy:

That Backyard guy has got a "Pumpkin head" compared to Oswald, and that's Larry's term. His head is larger and more jutting than we see on Oswald; it's shaped differently. HIS WHOLE HEAD WAS SHAPED DIFFERENTLY. That is not Oswald's head we are seeing in the Backyard photo. His head wasn't shaped like that.

And here is the comparison to the DPD photo.

Look at that difference! No way is that the same head. And the weird, lopsided, tubular neck in the Backyard photo wasn't Oswald's either.

What they did was overlay the core of Oswald's face, excluding the chin, over the face of the guy in the Backyard photo. Just the central core of his face, including eyes, nose, and mouth- the central features of his face- that is all they moved. The cranium is that of the other man.

Here is Larry's message accompanying these overlays:

Ralph and Jim:
Something VERY interesting happened when I decided to study the Backyard photos using the same overlay techniques.  See attached files:
1.  Control Animation - This is the DPD and NOPD mug shots overlaid onto one another.  The features, size of the head, etc. are a perfect match.   This gives us a true empirical measurement of the head.
2.  Backyard-DPD animation - This is the DPD photo overlaid onto the Backyard closeup.  EGAD! (to borrow this from Jim!) When we line up the features, eyes, nose and mouth, the head is completely disproportionate! See left side
3.  Backyard-NOPD animation -  As expected, the head is also completely disporoportionate! See left side.
Enjoy!
Trick or treat. We're on a roll!
Larry
