My Stretch of Texas Ground has gotten a relatively positive review from a UK movie review website. Numerically, the guy gave it a 3, presumably out of 5, which I know doesn't sound that impressive, but when you read the review, it actually sounds more positive than that. The main thing he faulted was the lighting and the sound, and we have been working on those things. And I am going to see if we can do more to improve them.
However, I don't think the average viewer is going to be as affected by those things as this guy was. It matters much more to me that he liked the story and recognized the importance of it- and he elaborated about it. He spoke of it as an "admirable story" and a "strong script." And he mostly liked the acting, citing both Jeff and Junes, as well as supporting actors that he didn't name.
So now, I am going to do two things: I am going to give you the link to the review so you can read it. And I am going to give you the link to the film so that you can watch it. I know that some of you have intended and planned to watch it but haven't gotten around to it yet. So, to encourage you to watch it, I have reduced the rental price to $1.99 on Vimeo.
I can't change it on Amazon because they are having technical problems. They haven't even updated the film to the latest version yet, which I submitted two weeks ago. But, Vimeo has the latest version and the lowered price.
And to everyone that I consider a friend, how about informing your circle that they can now watch the film for just two bucks and encourage them to do so. Let's really get a buzz going. And I would very much like to hear from people about what they think of the sound and lighting issues.
And to my many adversaries in the JFK realm, know this: if you watch the film and put up a negative review, I am not going to take it down, so long as it's fair and has substance. If you write a well-reasoned critique that is negative, I'm going to leave it there. But, if you divulge things that you shouldn't or get nasty and derogatory to the extremes I've seen, that I will remove. Just be honest and forthright. That's all I ask.
So, here is the link to the film on Vimeo:
And here is the link to the British review, and I thank you.
