This is a further update about my film. And remember that it was a passion project for me because I have truly been anguished by all the killing our government has done since 9/11, and in the name of fighting terrorism, no less. Over a million people have been killed, and that is a heck of a lot. You know?

But, some well-meaning people have written to me expressing concern for the financial risk I took, but they needn't worry because I consulted with my financial adviser first, asking him how much I could spend without jeopardizing my retirement. He told me, and I abided by that, and I am going to be fine regardless of what happens with the film. But, I very much hope that it succeeds for two reasons: first, to get the message out, that war is just industrial-strength terrorism, or you could say: terrorism on steroids. So, if you hate terrorism, as everybody does, you have no business starting any wars.

And the second is that we can't make the sequel unless the first film does well. I have already written the second script, and I like it. And I know the returning actors are excited to do it. And last night, at the premiere of Writer's Block, Mike Gassaway introduced me to the beautiful young actress who begins the movie; where she is the first character you see. Her name is Bobbie Grace, and she made it clear that she would love to be in the sequel to My Stretch of Texas Ground, which will be called His Stretch of Texas Ground. So, I told her that if she is willing to play a hostage victim in a bank robbery, she's in. Here is a picture of Mike and Bobbie from last night.

But, the update is that we are going to tackle the sound and lighting issues in a very serious and comprehensive way. Jeff Stolhand of Expressions in Video, in Austin, is taking it on now as his primary project, and he started today. I know Jeff well, and I know that he is super-determined to get the sound and lighting right, and he is very confident that he can. Jeff is also going to direct the sequel.

But please, don't put off watching the movie because most people don't notice anything amiss. It's not going to hurt your enjoyment of the movie to watch it as-is.

So, here's the link again on Vimeo. It's just a buck/99. And I think you will have a very engaging cinematic experience.
