This is Mike Pompeo charging Iran with practicing terrorism, going through a list. And among them was the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing which killed 19 American servicemen.  Pompeo said that Iran was behind it, and that a U.S. court found them responsible.

Actually, it was a civil trial, and Iran just didn't show up for it. They didn't participate. They didn't respond. And that's the entire basis that the Court held them responsible.

But, was Iran responsible? The man who was arrested for it was not Iranian. He was a Saudi.

His name is Ahmed al-Mughassil, the head of Saudi Hezbollah. Iran has admitted giving support financial to the humanitarian arm of Hezbollah in Lebanon, where they distribute food and provide medical care to the needy. Hezbollah is a legal political party in Lebanon, voted into power by good old democracy. There is no evidence that this guy received any help or support from Iran.

Am I saying that all the accusations against Iran are like this, that they are bogus? Yes, that is what I am saying, and it is my very strong conviction. Iran is not stupid. They are in the oil business, and they know that countries do not want to buy oil from terrorists. They know that practicing and supporting terrorism is bad for business. So, why would they do it? Just for the satisfaction of killing people?  They are going to ruin the business on which their entire economy depends for that?

And, they are very religious people. They take their Islamic faith very seriously.

Another bogus charge is that they tried to murder the Saudi ambassador to the US at the Washington DC restaurant. Why on Earth would they do that? They know very well that if you kill one ambassador, another one follows right away. They had nothing to gain from doing such a thing. And it has never been established that the two men arrested for plotting it were Iranians or had any ties to the Iranian government. You have to be out of your mind to think that the Iranian government sought to murder a Saudi diplomat at a D.C. restaurant.

And they're all like that. There is NO EVIDENCE that Iran has ever practiced or supported terrorism. Now, what about the U.S.?
