Both Oswald and Lovelady were in the doorway. In fact, they were standing side by side. Oswald was the Doorway Man. Lovelady was Black Hole Man. We call him that because his head was missing. It was like a black hole in space. The man who is merged with Oswald and is overlapping him isn't real. He wasn't there. They plopped him in there to hide the unique construction of Oswald's Russian shirt. And note that nobody has ever tried to name him or even asked who he is. He is nobody. Oswald was definitely the Doorway Man.
