I uncovered more about Oswald's bus trip to New Orleans, and it is straight from the mouth of Ruth Paine. She was interviewed by the FBI on November 28, 1963, so just 6 days after the assassination.

The statement was signed by James Hosty, but the statement is incomplete. According to the statement, Ruth Paine told them that she did drive Oswald to the bus station, but at the time, Marina was going to move down to N.O. with him. So, Marina rode along. And if that's true, then obviously June must have rode along because she would have had to. When they got to the bus station Oswald bought tickets for himiself and Marina. But, what about June? Didn't he have to buy a ticket for her too?

Then, according to the statement, Ruth had the idea that Marina should stay with her until Oswald got settled, and Marina agreed to do that. So, Oswald redeemed the ticket he bought for Marina. But again, what about June? Why does the statement not include her?

The statement says that Ruth and Marina took Oswald to the bus station, and then it says Oswald bought tickets for himself and Marina. But, the means the first statement is bogus, that it should have read that Ruth took Oswald and Marina to the bus station.

So, let's consider what's involved here. It started out with Oswald and Marina both moving to New Orleans. For that, it means that Oswald had his stuff, though there is no mention of a rifle. But, isn't it fair to say that men usually travel lighter than women? That women have more stuff when they travel? So, since Marina was expecting to travel with him, it meant that they had to pack all his stuff, and all her stuff. And since it meant, ipso facto, that June must have been going to, it meant it also included June's stuff.

So, you've got this station wagon with 4 people in it, plus luggage for 3 people, + Oswald's rifle? How come the statement doesn't mention Oswald's rifle? And how could the rifle not be prominent in the whole event?

So, what should we make of this FBI statement? What I make of it is that at the time, the issue of Oswald having had to bring the rifle along (so that it would be there in September) went over the heads of the FBI agents. They just didn't give it a moment's thought. They completely overlooked it. It was a stupid mistake, but people make stupid mistakes all the time. It's very apparent that Ruth didn't say anything about Oswald's rifle. If she had, they surely would have included it in the statement. And why didn't Ruth say something about Oswald's rifle? Because she didn't see any rifle. And at the time, on November 28, 1963, her mind went nowhere near the necessity of him having to have brought a rifle.

So, the bottom line is that Oswald did not take a rifle with him to New Orleans, which means that there was no rifle at issue in September when Ruth went to get Marina. The whole story of the rifle is a lie; every last bit of it.
