It occurred to me, after sleeping on it, that on Fox News television, Mark Lane may have been restricted in what he could say about the JFK assassination.
After all, it was decided ahead of time that Geraldo Rivera was going to finish the program by saying that when all is said and done, we have to reckon with the fact that a "low life drifter" killed our beloved President. In saying that, he completely dismissed every word his two guests, Mark Lane and Dr. Cyril Wecht, had said.
But, imagine if just moments before that Mark Lane had said that it was Oswald in the doorway, that he was the Doorway Man, standing there watching the slaughter from the top of the steps. How would Geraldo's blanket denial have gone over? I suspect it would have sounded eerie and chilling, and there would have been a lot of deaf ears.
So, they may have anticipated that. They may have worked out ahead of time the exact material that was going to be covered.
And, I suspect that many agree with me that, after all this time, another rehashing of the Single Bullet Theory wasn't going to have much visceral impact on people. After all, we had Kevin Costner explaining it to millions of movie-goers in 1991:

And here is the clip from Seinfeld in which they lampooned it. And note that the actor who played "Newman" on Seinfeld (Wayne Knight) who was part of the demonstration of the spit trajectory, played the corresponding but serious role in the movie JFK.

That's why I say that the Single Bullet Theory has lost it's visceral impact, it's emotional effect on people. Oswald in the doorway is MUCH stronger. Infinitely stronger.
So, I have to wonder if Mark Lane was told what he could and what he could not say last night on Fox News. He wound up saying "CIA" several times, but as OIC senior member Vincent Salandria has said many times and written to me personally: the CIA alone could not have done it. The killing of JKF was a "national security event". It involved the whole shebang. The entire apparatus of the federal government was involved, not just a rogue agency. It involved the CIA, the FBI, the Pentagon, the Office of the Vice President, and much more.
What if Mark Lane had wanted to say that LBJ and J. Edgar Hoover were involved in killing Kennedy? Would Fox News have allowed that? I doubt it.
What Mark Lane said about Oswald never having gone to Mexico is true. But, how important was that? His point, I believe, was that the CIA made up that story, and therefore, they must have been involved in the murder.
But, the problem is that now we're back to implying that there were "rogue elements" in the CIA who did it, which is exactly how it came off when Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said it on national television.
But, it wasn't rogue elements. And it wasn't just the CIA. It was the whole mainline power structure of the federal government that did it, and I mean higher up than Kennedy ever was. The fact is that there was nothing rogue about them.
Still, in the very recent time frame, meaning this year, we have had Mark Lane and Gerald McKnight say very publicly that it was Oswald in the doorway. And that is something to feel good about.
