This graphic was made by Professor Andrej Stancak, although I modified it some.
I added the explanation about Doorman, and Andrej left out the white opaquing over the face of Obfuscated Man, which I added.
Keep in mind that with these enlargements, they added details that are not part of the original photo. So: they crop it; they enlarge it; and then they enhance it. They add data that isn't there. And that's what they did trying to turn the white obfuscation into a forearm. Really, it's just a blob of white.
It's good to obtain the October 2, 1964 Life magazine with the Altgens photo, which is available for about $15 on EBAY. You can look at it with a magnifier and see what the Altgens photo really contained. And when you do that, you see that the white blob is really just a white blob. It is totally amorphous. It is not an object. It's just noise added to the photo, an obfuscation. Think of it as a dab of Wite-Out that was applied. That's all it is.
